What you need to know to rent a boat from Captain Mannis.

  1. You must be a minimum of 25 years old.
  2. You must hold a valid auto drivers license.
  3. You must have 2 years experience operating boats.
  4. You must be physically able to handle all aspects of operating a boat.

Boaters Card Requirements

Florida boaters born on or after January 1, 1988 must by law have completed and passed a NASBLA approved boater safety and education course and possess a card of proof.

Exemptions - US Coast Guard License holders, Foreign boaters licence holders.

Local Boating Orientation Requirements

Florida requires all boat rental operators to provide all customers with a pre-rental instruction session or “local boating orientation”. Therefore all first time renters are required to participate in The Captains Local Boating Orientation. This orientation is provided by one of our US Coast Guard licensed Captains. It is the best around and entails you actually operating the boat on a cruise with our Captain on board usually ending up at your dock. This session entails 1-2 hours and is imperative to cover the rules and ensure you are comfortable operating the boat safely and navigating the area waterways. Once done you don’t need to take it again and we record it for future needs.

Exemptions: U/S Coast Guard Licenced Captains.

Other Fees

  1. $100.00 Delivery / Pick up Fee (one way) - We drive it to your location and/or pick it up. Boat pickup includes stopping at the fuel dock for the final fuel up. Does not include fuel.
  2. $60.00 Fuel up Fee - Charged to boaters who return the boat low on fuel.
  3. $100.00 Cleaning Fee - Charged when boats are returned full of trash, sand, garbage or otherwise filthy condition.

Other considerations.

  1. All fuel used is paid by the customer. You get the boat full of gas and are required to return it full of gas.
  2. A $1000.00 damage deposit is required either with an authorized hold on a credit card or a cash deposit.
